Interoperability Showcase
Proposals for OpeniWorld Interoperability Showcase demonstrations are being solicited at this time.
OpeniWorld will feature a live interoperability showcase aimed at demonstrating the current state of the art of federated resources through open interoperability standards and specifications and its benefit to learners and educators.
All candidates for evaluation at OiW must achieve one-to-many or many-to-many interoperability using open standards or specifications such as those of the IMS Global Learning Consortium, the Open Knowledge Initiative, the Advanced Distributed Learning Network, Open Archives Initiative, IEEE Learning Technologies Standards Committee, the Online Computer Library Center, AFNOR, etc.
Proposals are due by July 21st, and should include the following information:

•Name and contact information of primary coordinator, including organization

•List of organizations, projects or products to be demonstrated

•Descriptive Paragraph (150 words or less, including reference to how this demonstrator will showcase federated resources)

•Interoperability standards or specifications used

•Detailed description, including the following elements:

•Use cases and scenarios that will be demonstrated.

•Functional Value: includes educational value and/or value to the systems integrator, business value, etc.

•Maturity: may range from proof of concept through enterprise production deployment.

•Depth of integration: may range from import/export of content to real-time manipulation of objects in federated systems.

•Ease of integration: demonstrator may show ease for software developers, systems integrators, end users, etc.

•Novelty: may show a new kind of interoperability, innovative use of federated resources or may challenge what the industry generally believes to be possible.
